'Persevera y alcanzaras’ those were my mother’s words. In other words, with a little perseverance and self-determination, one may accomplish any goal one may strive for. My mother was a very strong woman and inspired me to overcome obstacles by instilling in me the belief that with perseverance and self-determination anything is possible. Currently, I am pursuing a Master Degree in Education with a specialization as an Educational Diagnostician.
Personal Philosophy
As an educator, I would like to inspire children with special needs to reach their full potential. I want to instill the belief that with a little perseverance and self-determination anything is possible. One of my goals is to create an atmosphere where children with disabilities are able to learn at their own rate while encouraging their dreams and aspirations despite their disabilities and the difficulties they face. It is essential that students feel proud of who they are and where they come from. I made the decision to become an Educational Diagnostician to promote awareness and inspire exceptional children to make something of themselves.

ArtifactGlog for Chapter 7 Treasure Hunt Technology Rich Unit TEASe Iris Module: Assistive Technology Assessment Book Trailor and Research Paper |
ReflectionThe collage is an excellent example that promote higher order thinking skills. In my opinion, my students will be able to show what they have learned integrating technology and creating a product individualized to their own learning style. Also, I really enjoyed using Word to create my collage. The ten tips allowed me to do so much more than I thought possible with Word.
The organizer is another way to have students actively involve in meaningful learning. This project is a great way to engage digital learners to show what they are capable of doing through technology. The glogster allowed me to create my own product, based on my own learning and prior experiences. This is also great way to assess students learning. The teacher will be able to see how they apply what they know. The Treasure Hunt will provided me with different learning experiences through technology. The Big Question provides an opportunity for the students to assess their learning while checking for understanding throughout the different activities in the Treasure Hunt. The technology rich unit is the result of internet research, graphics, animation, website mastering and video technology. This is an excellent way for a master teacher to apply the knowledge of digital learning competencies in the classroom. The TEASe is another example of internet research, graphics, animation, website mastering and video technology. I really enjoyed making this video. The making of the video allowed me to learn how to make a video, transitions, include music, and most of all make it engaging to the viewers. The Iris Module provided me with research regarding how to incorporated assistive technology with students with special needs. It also provided case studies that showed the importance of having everyone on board to provide every opportunity necessary for students with special needs. Working in groups to create an online presentation meets Standard V. While I enjoyed making the presentation and the book trailer online, this project challenge my notion of a traditional learning environment. The project took research, collaboration, having informal discussions about the content via instant message, making decisions, etc. It was a great experience. |
